Most of the time our clients engage us because of a specific business skill-related concern or deficiency. While the goal is to resolve the presenting issues, typically, these may only be symptoms of a deeper, undefined problem. Through individual assessment, 360° interviews, and observation both client and coach gain a better understanding of the nature of the situation before it becomes a crisis.
Coaching is customized based on the client’s needs, goals, and available time. A typical engagement is 6-12 months with the majority of work for client and coach scheduled at the front-end. Shorter engagements are possible, based on the situation. Client communication is strictly confidential and delivered face-to-face and by phone. Coach and client determine the end date of the engagement, although the advisor/advisee relationship generally can continue beyond the formal engagement period.
Our methodology is a three-step process that involves:
- Identify the root cause of a behavior(s) and help clients recognize and understand the behavioral triggers.
- Work one-on-one with the client to develop a plan that enables them to make the desired changes.
- Measure performance improvement by pinpointing opportunities for “applying” the learning, providing constructive feedback based on observation or other objective methods, and revising strategy as necessary.
- Deploy a Process not an Event that can measure the success of change and revise the initiative as necessary.
